KONGEAEN TOUCH POINTS

Service design concept of touch-points along the Kongeaen river in Denmark.

Service design concept for a public trail along Kongeåen (the King’s River) in southern Denmark, in collaboration with the municipality of Vejen and local land owners.
It is a Natura2000 conservation area with much history to tell all from the viking age to the 2nd world war. We focused on creating a coherent experience for tourist visiting the area.

The Concept

Connecting human and nature, putting humans in a natural context

Logo Concept

The main logo
Logo with names of each touch points

The Challenge

How might we create a family experience that enables learning and playing at the Kongeaaen?

Meet the Hanses

A Mirrorhouse!

Partly camouflaged, partly obvious, the mirror cube allows reflection on the relationship between humanity and nature, and to see oneself within this context

A Touchscreen!

Entering the room, the screen lights up
The round screen allows information browsing
while maintaining social interaction

Mini-maps!

The map follows the walking path and points out areas of interest
The icons on the map apply to the information on the touchscreen
It's easy to fold and small enough to fit any pocket
When put together, the three maps, one for each part of the path, complete the illustration on the back
